Mission
The Diploma in Aerospace Engineering aims to provide high quality aerospace engineering training in an innovative learning environment. Students will be equipped with strong engineering fundamentals and specialised aerospace knowledge for careers in the aerospace industry.
About The Course (JAE Code: T51)
Students will undergo a curriculum that begins with broad based fundamental engineering subjects, which progresses to core aerospace engineering modules, practical skills training, cross-disciplinary subjects and technical communication skills.
All students have the opportunity to attend a unique six-month attachment programme with Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) Centre, a renowned aircraft training organization recognized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). Students will be trained by qualified and experienced LTT instructors in aircraft hardware, maintenance and and materials, and do hands-on projects related to aircraft structural repair, avionics wiring and control cable rigging and composites.
In their final semester, suitable students may be attached to reputable local or overseas aerospace companies for higher aerospace training. This allows capable students to transit into the workforce even before graduation, thereby giving them a head-start in their aerospace careers.
The subjects taken during the course will also prepare students for 12 modules in the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR-66) Aircraft Maintenance License basic knowledge examinations (Category B1.1 – Aeroplanes with Turbine Engine) administrated by CAAS, which is a step towards obtaining the Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML). The AML is a prerequisite qualification for many professionals working in the aerospace industry.
N.B. This course is offered to students only for the April intake of each year.
