The Course
The Diploma in Aerospace Engineering provides a holistic educational experience for students that include TP core subjects, Diploma core subjects and Cross-Disciplinary subjects (CDS). The graduates of Aerospace Engineering will be well equipped with life long learning skills and in-depth specialisation in aerospace engineering. Besides being technologically competent, you will also develop effective communication skills.
The Diploma in Aerospace Engineering aims to prepare you with an early head-start for a career in the aerospace industry. Its course structure is designed to align with the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR-66), stipulated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
The course will prepare you with sufficient theoretical aircraft knowledge for attempting or gaining exemption for these CAAS Aircraft Maintenance Licence SAR-66 examination papers:
- M01 – Mathematics
- M02 – Physics
- M03 – Electrical Fundamentals
- M04 – Electronic Fundamentals
- M05 – Digital Techniques / Electronic Instrument Systems
- M06 – Material And Hardware
- M07 – Maintenance Practices
- M08 – Basic Aerodynamics
- M09 – Human Factors
- M10 – Aviation Legislation
- M11A – Turbine Aeroplane Aerodynamics, Structures & Systems
- M15 – Gas Turbine Engine
In the third year, an enriching six-month attachment programme with Lufthansa Technical Training Centre (LTTS) will provide you the competence in a range of aircraft hand-skills, and an insight into fundamental aerospace maintenance practices.
With the acquired qualifications, coupled with the relevant knowledge and skills, the graduates from the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering can look forward to bright prospects in the vibrant aerospace indusry.
Career Opportunities
The aerospace industry in Singapore has been expanding at 12% annual growth since 1990. Up till today, Singapore has the highest concentration of aerospace original equipment manufacturers in Asia-Pacific, and has achieved the reputation of being the most comprehensive aerospace hub to maintain, repair and overhaul aircraft in Asia.
This exciting growth in the aerospace industry has created a huge demand for highly skilled and licensed professionals who are certified to work in local aviation companies such as SIA Engineering Company, ST Aerospace and large multinationals such as Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
The government plans to make Singapore an aviation hub, so the market opportunities and benefits to be gained from this initiative are huge and challenging for graduates with the qualifications and skills in the field of aerospace engineering.

Minimum Entry Requirements
5 GCE ‘O’ Level subjects comprising:

* SPM/UEC holders must have a minimum of Grade 6 for their Bahasa Inggeris (Paper 122/Paper 322) / Communication English or English Language (for UEC holders).
Applicants with partial or complete Colour Appreciation Deficiency are not eligible to apply for this course.
For safety reasons, applicants should ensure that they do not suffer from medical conditions such as epilepsy or hearing impairment.
