GROUND SCHOOL – Earning your wings
This diploma, the first of its kind in Asia, will equip you with a broad range of specialised skills and knowledge to meet the various needs and challenges across the aviation industry; from managing a world class airport, to understanding what it takes to run the best airline in the world.

You will discover what goes into operating the next generation passenger aircraft such as the Boeing 787 “Dreamliner” and acquire knowledge on the inner workings of a “spaceport” that will one day send passengers beyond the stars.

Core Subject Areas
Airport Operations and Management Covers the fundamental concepts and principles in the management and operation of modern airports, including air traffic forecasting, airport capacity and business planning, airport retail management and marketing, airport ground handling and ramp operations as well as airport financial management, corporate communications and service quality. | ![]() |
![]() | Airline Operations and Management Provides an introduction to the key aspects of airline operations and management, including airline economics and marketing product and route planning, the regulatory framework of the airline industry, as well as airline alliances, financing and pricing. |
Airport Infrastructure and Systems
Focuses on the key facilities and systems in an airport, including the passenger check-in systems, Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), People Mover System (PMS), Passenger Loading Bridges (PLB), and the various airport IT support systems.

![]() | Airfield Infrastructure & Systems Provides an understanding of the various air traffic control and radar systems, navigation aids and communication systems used in the aviation industry, as well as the various airfield lighting systems and aircraft pavement utilised in airside operations. |
Air Cargo Operations and Management Emphasises the fundamentals of air cargo operations, management and best practices, including the importance of air cargo to the economy, rate and tariff issues, air cargo marketing and business planning, handling facilities for air cargo, and the logistic supply chain management. | ![]() |
Students will also have opportunities to gain valuable industrial experience from working with reputable aviation related companies and key regulatory authorities.
Along with their Diploma in Aviation Management and Services, we are working with our industry partners on getting students to also graduate with additional industrial accreditation . The course will also enhance the industry standing of students, by enabling them to pursue additional certifications in Business Continuity Management, Project Management and Facility Management.
