What is this course about?
This diploma equips you with the technical knowledge and practical know-how in renewable energy technologies including photovoltaic or solar cells, fuel cells and other renewable energy sources, such as biomass, hydropower and wind energy. Areas that are intricately-connected with the utilization of Clean Energy, such as electrical systems and power distribution, will also be covered. In the first year, you will be provided with strong fundamentals in electrical and electronic engineering and mathematics. In the second year, you will specialise in the various renewable energy technologies, covering materials & components, installation & maintenance, electrical services for facilities, and electrical systems & power distribution. In year 3, there will be a Major Project (MP) and the Student Internship Programme (SIP) for you to develop applications of Clean Energy technologies and to gain the necessary exposure by being attached to companies in the Clean Energy and/or Energy Management industries. You will also be taught the different design, manufacturing and automation processes.

Is there any opportunity for further education?
Yes. There are plenty of opportunities for you to further your studies. Many universities both local and overseas, including NTU, NUS and well-known universities such as Stanford University and UNSW, offer degree programmes or option courses in Clean Energy. Our diploma is recognised for direct entry by many universities, allowing you to get module exemptions or even direct entry into the 2nd year of a degree programme.
