Shipping Registry appoints Singapore Representative

Ms. Evelyn Soon has been appointed Singapore Representative for the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR).

The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) said the recent appointment made by its CEO Joel Walton takes immediate effect.

Ms Soon has just completed a month’s training at MACI headquarters here and is now back in Singapore.

She received a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and a Diploma in Electronics Engineering from Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore. She speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and is currently serving as Secretary for the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association’s Singapore chapter.

“Obviously, from her qualifications and experience, Ms Soon is an ideal candidate for the Cayman Shipping Registry in our new Singapore marketing strategy,” Mr Walton said.

“CISR is currently taking advantage of its past successes and expanding its physical presence globally, having just established representation in Cannes, France, and now adding Singapore.”

In addition to Headquarters in Grand Cayman, CISR has its European Regional Office in Southampton, England, and Representative Offices in Athens, Greece; Cannes, France; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Tokyo, Japan.
