TP To Have Aerospace Training Centre
TP and Lufthansa Technical Training will be setting up an aerospace training centre in the campus as reported by LianHe ZaoBao on 24 October 2007.
The article gave details of what the training centre will be like when completed in January 2008, and how its aircraft maintenance training programme will benefit TP students doing the Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Electronics options.
The training centre will produce more trained professionals who are able to provide maintenance services for new aircrafts like the A380, and this will help boost the local aerospace industry.
Two first-year Diploma in Electronics students were also interviewed. Both talked about their dreams of becoming aircraft maintenance engineers and said they look forward to the opening of the training centre. CAAS Director-General & CEO Lim Kim Choon and EDB Assistant Managing Director Manohar Khiatani were also quoted.
The report was accompanied by a photo of the two Electronics students posing next to the Skyhawk fighter jet at TP.
