Infocomm Solutions Centre
The core technologies that Infocomm Solutions Centre focuses on are Enterprise Web Applications, Wireless and Mobile Applications, Embedded Technologies and Networking Solutions. The objective of this Centre is to proliferate and develop these technologies for research and development, training and industry collaborations. Thus far, this Centre has worked with many companies through the Student-Internship Program and Major Project (SIP-MP) scheme, which was proven to be successful.
| Diploma Units & Industry Collaborations |
Internet Technology Diploma Unit (ITDU), Infocomm Diploma Unit (IFCDU) and Mobile Computing Diploma Unit (MCDU) are three technology competency units in the Infocomm Solutions Centre. The DUs have been actively involved in numerous industrial projects as well as CFCs such as Connecting the Community CFC, Healthcare CFC (2004) and FutureSchool CFC. Our industrial partners include Philips Electronics (S) Pte Ltd, National Institute of Education, Information Technology Standards Committee (ITSC), etc. |

Achievements
ST Electronics has been selected to design and deploy next generation info-communications enabled solutions under the FutureSchools@SG projects for Beacon Primary School and Hwa Chong Institution.
The FutureSchools@SG award was held on 13May08 by IDA. This collaboration partnership promotes innovation by bringing Temasek Polytechnic info-communications students together with ST Electronics developers and consultants for FutureSchools@SG projects.

MOU with ST Electronics (Training and Simulation Systems) Pte Ltd
Temasek Engineering School has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ST Electronics on 4 May 2009, to collaborate on the FutureSchools@Singapore project. The project, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, involves the development of tailored e-learning solutions for Beacon Primary School and Hwa Chong Institution. Temasek Engineering School and ST Electronics will jointly research on, create, develop and test rich 3D digital media for the e-learning solutions.

National Research Foundation’s (NRF) Research and Development (R&D) Programme on Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) in Education (24 April 2008~23 March 2010)
The Infocomm Solutions Centre partnered with Learning Sciences Lab, National Institute of Education to secure the funding under the National Research Foundation’s (NRF) Research and Development (R&D) Programme on Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) in Education. The project is entitled “Leveraging Mobile Technology for Sustainable Seamless Learning in Singapore Schools”
Healthcare Solutions
The Centre works closely with Philips Electronics (S) Pte Ltd, Philips Medical Systems (Seattle, USA) and SingHealth in this Healthcare Call For Collaboration (CFC) initiated by IDA in May 2006.
On top of the CFC, the Centre also works with Philips Electronics (S) Pte Ltd to develop Healthcare Solutions which include Bedside Companion and Mobile Physician.
