Factory Automation/Robotics Lab
The Factory Automation/Robotics lab supports the subject FA/Robotics, Low Cost Automation, Advanced Automation Systems Design, and Major Projects that focus on Robotics.
Automation Lab
The Programmable Automation Laboratory is equipped with various didactic components to give students fundamental knowledge of automation technologies such as pneumatics, electro-pneumatics and programmable logic controllers [PLC].
Mechatronics Science Lab
The Mechatronics Science laboratory houses equipment for studying static equilibrium, friction, torsion, and instruments like impact testers, polariscopes and universal tensile testing machines. The laboratory is also equipped with visualNastran 4D simulation software for stress and strain analyses. The laboratory is also equipped with dynamics simulation software for demonstrating motion in real life applications.
Machine Vision Systems Lab
The Machine Vision Systems Lab supports the subject, “Machine Vision Systems.” It provides facilities and equipment to help students learn about the application of machine visions systems in automation and quality control.
Computer Integrated Manufacturing Lab
The CIM lab comprises two complete CIM lines which comprises an ASRS, a robotics station and a conveyor. The other, from Degem, comprises the same stations as the Eshed line, but with an additional FMS station, a machine vision station, a PCB assembly station and a CIM control station.
CNC Workshop
The CNC Workshop is equipped with Computer Numerical Control machine tools. Computer Numerical Machine is an advance machining technology that uses numeric codes to automate machining operations. The CNC workshop has three CNC Machining Centers for students to practice NC programming, and to learn about the various functions and capabilities of Computer Numerical Control.
Instrumentation and Computer Control Lab
This lab provides facilities for students taking Instrumentation and Computer Control. A small scale pharmaceutical reaction plant and oil filter system in the lab enables research on computerized process control and oil filtering and purification to be carried out. There are 3 process control training rigs provide students hand-on training in the operation and monitoring of process control.
MCAD Lab
The MCAD lab is equipped with Pro/ENGINEER advanced CAD software that runs on an integrated networked system Students learn the skills of using pro/ENGINEER to create 3D part modelling, and to assemble design models and production drawings. With the Pro/Manufacturing module, the students will learn to generate the NC codes for the CNC machines to manufacture their product models.
