Temasek Polytechnic School of Engineering (ENG) aims to link up with the industry to enhance staff’s capability development and students’ learning experience. By developing partnerships with the industry through consultancy, collaborative R&D projects, joint training programmes, student internship programmes and job placements, ENG hopes to create opportunities for staff and students to be at the frontiers of new industry knowledge and trends. These industry link-up efforts also infuse a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in our teaching and learning environment.
In 2002, ENG rationalised its project efforts into competency units which flourished to 17 units to support the needs of both the school and the diploma programmes. Since then, progress and growth have brought ENG to another juncture of rationalisation – that of clustering relevant competency units to form 8 Centres. These Centres aim to enable ENG to contribute to, and play more significant roles in, technology areas that are in line with national initiatives and emphases.
The 8 Centres are:
- Biomedical Engineering Research Centre
- Clean Energy Research Centre
- Infocomm Solutions Centre
- Interactive Digital Centre Asia (IDC Asia)
- Microelectronics Centre
- Robotics & Automation Centre
- Temasek Aviation & Aerospace Centre
- TP-LTT Centre Singapore
