The aim of this project was to design and develop a system which would monitor the activities of elderly people in a designated area. The system designed uses a series of motion detectors to monitor the movements of the elderly person.

If there is no movement for a prolonged period of time, which may indicate that person is in distress, a pre-set SMS message is  automatically sent to a predetermined mobile phone number.

This project was done in collaboration with PHILIPS Electronics Pte Ltd.
