Excellent performance at Tan Kah Kee Awards 2007

Temasek Engineering School registered one of its best performance in the annual Tan Kah Kee Young Inventor's Award compeititon in 2007, winning a total of 8 awards. The Engineering students won 2 Silver, 2 Merit, 2 Commendation and 2 Encouragement awards.

The "Bladeless Fan", which won a Silver medal, is safer than conventional fans with blades and yet produce equal amount of wind. It can be safely installed in all HDB apartments.

The other Silver medal came from the "Fail-Safe Human Fall Detector", which is a special system for the elderly, that is able to automatically send an SMS alert to the elderly person's next of kin, in the event of a fall.

The students will receive their awards at a presentation ceremony held at the Singapore Science Centre on 26 May 2007.
