Diploma in Infocomm & Network Engineering (T37)

Mission

This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and application of both IT and telecommunications technologies to serve  the rapid growth of the Infocomm industry. It exposes students to Information Technologies, Network and Communications Engineering.

About The Course (JAE Code: T37)    

The curriculum provides a comprehensive, broad-based and multi-disciplinary education devoted to Information Technologies, Network and Communications Engineering. In Information Technologies, the students will learn enterprise and mobile applications development on both Java and .NET platforms. In Network Engineering, the students will learn to design, plan, build and test networks. They will learn to manage the technologies that are vital in emerging media and telecommunication technologies.

This strong emphasis on technical foundation produces graduates equipped to work in the IT, computer networking and communications industries. It offers a different experience and opportunities for those who are considering their options after polytechnic in Engineering or Computing Science.

Quick Facts At A Glance

In Joint Admission Exercise (JAE) 2011, the course has candidates ranging from 7 points to 22 points for their best 5 GCE ‘O’ Level subjects which meets the course minimum entry requirements. Since the course is re-launched, we are expecting competitive applications for the next JAE

The course offers opportunities to all eligible students to work on industry linked projects to enhance their career opportunities and further studies. Our partners which include A*Star, Microsoft Singapore, Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific, Rednano, Singapore Technologies Electronics and more focusing on Education, Hospitality, Retail & Tourism, Healthcare and Digital Media.

The course enjoys one of the highest numbers of graduates going for further studies both locally and overseas. We attribute this to the versatility of the course which allows graduates to apply to IT, Engineering and even Business degree programs.

Based on Graduate Employer Survey conducted in 2009, it was found that 87.5% of Fresh Graduates and 100% of post National Service Graduates from the courses are able to secure a job with 6 months. The mean starting salary is $1,600 and $2,000 for Fresh Graduates and post National Service Graduates, respectively.

Diploma in Infocomm & Network Engineering is one of the few courses that give out diploma scholarships. These scholarships are supported by our industry partner and therefore adding a feather to your diploma.

It's Engineering and More

Business Management @ ENG - You will be able to take up Business Management courses while pursuing your ENG diploma.

Certificate Programme @ TP - If you do well in your first semester, you may select and pursue an additional certificate program in a field outside your course of study.

Every year you have an opportunity to be involved in study trips, community projects and student internship programs overseas.
