Mission

This course trains the students in Microelectronics for the booming semiconductor industries. The curriculum is specially designed to include Nanotechnology, Display Technology, Wafer Fabrication Technology, Cleanroom Equipment & Technology, Integrated Circuit (IC) Design & Layout and Packaging & Test.

About The Course (JAE Code: T05)

The first year of the course is common with ETCM (Electronics, Media & Communication Technology, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics) .

The second and third year of the course will focus on the following technology areas:

· Integrated Circuit (IC) Design & Layout

Design, simulate and layout both digital and analogue ICs using industry standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software.

· Wafer Fabrication

Fabricate semiconductor devices and sensors using our own class 100 cleanroom equipment and vacuum systems.

· IC Packaging & Test

Package and test ICs using sophisticated Failure Analysis (FA), Packaging and Test equipment including Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Automatic Test Systems (ATS).

· Niche Technology Electives

Pursue and explore emerging industry trends and technologies, including Nanotechnology, Display Technology, Materials Science, Cleanroom Equipment and Technology and VLSI Design.

T05: This is a common JAE code for the 4 ETCM (Electronics, Media & Communication Technology, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics) diplomas. You can opt for Diploma in Microelectronics at the end of the common first year.
